Kanawha County Emergency Management

A water rescue team from Kanawha County helped in the Marion County town of Mannington Saturday morning.

MANNINGTON, W.Va. — Two swift water rescue teams from five Kanawha County fire departments were dispatched to Marion County Saturday morning to help with water rescues following flooding.

The Kanawha County teams had made half dozen rescues by 9:30 a.m., officials with the Kanawha County Office of Emergency Management said.

Heavy rains Friday night into Saturday resulted in high water blocking bridges in and out of some communities.

High water was reported Saturday from Brooke County down through the Northern Panhandle into parts of Wetzel, Marion and Monongalia counties.
