Ohio County deputy dies from injuries

WHEELING, W.Va. — The Ohio County Sheriff’s Department announced a deputy died from injuries following “a tragic event.”

The deputy died Saturday after the incident on Wednesday.

Sheriff Tom Howard said the department is not releasing any additional information about the case at this time pending funeral arrangements.

According to The Intelligencer, the deputy was injured in the Mozart area of Wheeling after police were called to a home there.
