Harrison school board accepts Nicewarner’s resignation

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. — The Harrison County Board of Education voted unanimously to accept the resignation of Josh Nicewarner at a special personnel hearing Tuesday morning.

Nicewarner, a coach at Bridgeport High School and physical-education teacher at Liberty High School, was arrested July 21 following the execution of search warrants at Liberty High School and at the Bridgeport High School athletic facilities.

He is charged with two felonies related to the attempted seduction of a 14-year-old girl.

John Cole, a Bridgeport High School history teacher and long-time assistant coach, is expected to be named head coach at a meeting of the Harrison County Board of Education Tuesday night.
