LVL machine bids under review following opening

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — More than 600 bids for limited video lottery machine permits are under review after offers opened Wednesday at West Virginia Lottery headquarters.

According to the lottery, the highest bid made was $7,540. The minimum acceptable bid was $2,000, which was matched. The average bid made was $3,089. The lottery received a total of 617 bids.

“We are pleased with the bids and we look forward to getting these machines in those locations as soon as possible,” West Virginia Lottery Director Alan Larrick said. “We should have official results from the bid opening finalized next week.”

The lottery estimates $1.8 million will be generated in permit fees. A total of 750 permits were available in accordance with state law.
