BECKLEY, W.Va. — A Wyoming County man was sentenced Wednesday after pleading guilty to possession and distribution of child pornography.
30-year-old Eddie Dwaine Justice, Jr. of Hanover admitted to possessing over 600 images and videos of minors engaging in sexual acts. Most of the images and videos involved preadolescent minors. The files were found saved on a personal computer at his residence. The FBI-led investigation also revealed Justice was using a file sharing program to receive, download and distribute the content.
“Those who choose to exploit children should be aware of the serious consequences associated with these crimes,” stated United States Attorney Carol Casto. “Protecting the children of our communities is a top priority of this office, and we will keep working with our law enforcement partners to hold these predators accountable.”
Justice was sentenced Wednesday to three years and four months in a federal prison. Once released, he will then face 15 years of federal supervision. U.S. District Judge Irene C. Berger imposed the sentence. Assistant U.S. Attorney Eric Bacaj leads the prosecution.
The case is part of a continuous initiative of the U.S. Attorney’s office to fight child sexual abuse and exploitation in the Southern District of West Virginia.
