Female charged following domestic dispute in Harrison County

HEPZIBAH, W.Va. — A female is in custody after a domestic dispute in Harrison County that ended in gunfire Tuesday evening.

Heidi Dawn Dodd, 22, is facing charges of wonton endangerment after firing shots at Harrison County Sheriff’s deputies who responded to the call. The incident occurred around 10 p.m. at a home on Third Street in Hepzibah.

Sheriff Robert Matheny said his deputies were approaching the home when gunshots came from inside. The deputies were able to take cover and did not fire back. No injuries were incurred.

West Virginia State Police also responded to the call.

Dodd is being held at the North Central Regional Jail on a $50,000 cash or surety bond.
