CHARLESTON, W.Va. — West Virginia Lottery players have one more day to get their Powerball tickets ahead of the $700 million prize-drawing.
The total, which has a cash value of $443.3 million, makes it the second largest jackpot in American history. The numbers will be drawn Wednesday evening.
“We are definitely excited about the large jackpot and would love to see one of our West Virginia players win the big one,” West Virginia Lottery Director Alan Larrick said in a press release. “As always, we encourage players to play responsibly.”
Any player who matches all five numbers and the Powerball will be able to decide between 30 payments over 29 years totaling $700 million or a lump-sum of $443.3 million. If more than one person has a Grand Prize-winning ticket, the jackpot will be split.
The highest Powerball jackpot was of $1.586 billion in January 2016. The grand prize was split by three tickets in California, Florida and Tennessee.
