Harrison County man sentenced for drug possession

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. — A Mount Clare man received a 10-year jail sentence Monday after pleading guilty to drug distribution.

Senior U.S. District Judge Irene M. Keeley handed down the punishment for Eric Scott Barker, 37, who pleaded guilty in June to one count of attempted possession with intent to distribute para-fluorofentanyl.

The crime took place in Doddridge County on Sept. 15, 2016.

The United States Postal Service Office of Inspector General, the West Virginia State Police and the Greater Harrison Drug and Violent Crime Task Force investigated.
