Highlights: Griffin, Vaughn push Cabell Midland past South Charleston

SOUTH CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Class AAA No. 7 Cabell Midland bounced back from last week’s close loss with a 49-17 win over No. 8 South Charleston in Week 2.

The Knights (1-1) were led by junior Griffin Adkins who totaled 208 rushing yards and three touchdowns, while Ivan Vaughn added 187 yards and three scores on the ground as well.

Adkins, who last played running back as a freshman, received those extra carries in place of Isaiah Duncan who was dealing with a medical issue.

Coming off a loss to Cincinnati Anderson (Ohio) in Week 1, the Knights totaled 440 rushing yards.

South Charleston dropped to 1-1 with the loss.
