Finalists named for Fairmont State president

FAIRMONT, W.Va. — The committee responsible for conducting the search for a new president of Fairmont State University has selected five candidates for the position.

The committee announced Tuesday the finalists will visit the campus later this month as the university looks to find a successor to Maria Rose, who retired in June after more than 25 years at the institution.

The five candidates and the dates of their interviews are:

— Rocco Fucillo, the state and local community relations specialist at West Virginia University, on September 18-19;
— Robert Mock, former president of Johnson and Wales University in Charlotte, North Carolina, on September 19-20;
— Robert Glenn, president of Athens State University in Athens, Alabama, on September 21-22;
— Richard Harvey, dean of the Fairmont State University School of Business, on September 25-26; and
— Mirta Martin, former president of Fort Hays State University in Hays, Kansas, on September 26-27.

Stephen Jones has been serving as interim president.
