Search continues for Illinois couple aboard missing plane

WALLACE, W.Va. — Crews are continuing to search for an Illinois couple aboard a plane that went missing from radar Tuesday afternoon.

Bill and Pat Searcy, of southern Illinois, were on a private plane that was last seen on radar about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday near the Harrison/Wetzel county line.

According to officials at the command center, the last confirmed cell phone ping from the aircraft was picked up near Fallen Timber Road in Wetzel County.

Crews are using the Wallace Volunteer Fire Dept. as their command post. The Civil Air Patrol has been contacted and will be helping with search efforts today.
