Airplane closes I-77 lanes in Jackson County

JACKSON COUNTY, W.Va. — An airplane caused traffic delays Monday evening following an emergency landing on Interstate 77 in Jackson County.

The plane had to make an emergency landing Monday evening on Interstate 77.

The northbound lanes near mile-marker 130 were closed as the aircraft remained parked on the interstate.

According to Jackson County Emergency Services, the pilot experienced engine trouble and realized they could not make it to Jackson County Airport in Ravenswood, resulting in that person taking an emergency landing.

The pilot had left Parkersburg and was flying to Charleston.

No one was hurt, and crews took the plane to a gas station in Fairplain for needed work.
