Formerly missing Fairmont State student set to appear in court Tuesday

FAIRMONT, W.Va. — A woman originally believed to be “in extreme danger” after going missing in May will appear in court Tuesday for a hearing.

Kara Jeffrey, a 21-year-old Fairmont State student from Barboursville, Cabell County, faces charges following a February arrest. Jeffrey missed a hearing in July in Marion Circuit Court that would have revoked her bond. It was set at $35,000.

Jeffrey vanished after last being seen in Huntington on May 1. She was taken into custody in Muskogee, Oklahoma, on August 4.

She was charged in February with possession with intent to deliver after police found cocaine in her apartment while executing a search warrant.
