Police: 2 dead in Raleigh County head-on crash

METALTON, W.Va. — A head-on collision on Harper Road in Raleigh County Monday evening claimed the lives of two Wyoming County residents, authorities said.

A vehicle traveling east hit an oncoming pickup truck near Metalton at around 5:30 p.m.

The 72-year-old man driving the eastbound vehicle and his passenger, a 45-year-old woman, both died as a result of the collision. The driver of the pickup truck was hospitalized.

The Raleigh County Sheriff’s Department is investigating.
