Green Bay promoted undrafted rookie Adam Pankey from its practice squad to the 53-man active roster on Wednesday.

Pankey started 36 games over his final three seasons at West Virginia and earned second-team All-Big 12 honors from the AP as a senior. He has been with Green Bay since signing as a free agent in May, working as a swing player between guard and tackle.

Six-year veteran lineman Don Barclay, another former Mountaineers standout, was relegated to injured reserve by the Packers on Sept. 3.

Expected to backup at guard and center, Barclay is sidelined with an ankle injury but is eligible to return after six weeks.
