Police searching for armed, dangerous man in Lewis County

LEWIS COUNTY, W.Va. — Police in Lewis County are searching for a man considered to be armed and dangerous.

On Tuesday, Lewis County Sheriff’s Department, West Virginia State Police and Weston Police Department were in pursuit of a stolen red Volkswagen Jetta.

The driver was identified as Robert “RJ” Beam, of Buckhannon.

Beam is 6 feet tall, about 160 pounds with brown hair and was last seen in the Teter Crossing Road area of Buckhannon.

The stolen Volkswagen bears West Virginia Registration “73J847”.

Deputies say Beam was involved in a shots fired complaint in Harrison County in July.

Anyone who sees Beam or the vehicle is asked to call 911 or the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office at (304) 269-8251.
