MATEWAN, W.Va. — Class AA defending state champion Mingo Central dominated Sissonville on Friday night, 69-15, in a battle of top 10 teams.
Miners’ quarterback Jeremy Dillon totaled five touchdowns on the night, completing 11 of 14 passes for 264 yards and four touchdowns. Dillon added 30 yards and another score on the ground.
Mingo Central running back Dawson Elia rushed for 295 yards on just 16 carries (18.4 yards per carry), scoring five total touchdowns. Josh Reed, meanwhile, totaled 128 yards receiving and two touchdowns on six catches for the Miners (4-0).
Sissonville (3-1) quarterback Will Hackney completed 21 of 37 passes for 219 yards and two touchdowns in the loss.
Mingo Central led 29-15 at the half and outscored the Indians 40-0 in the second half.
