Logging accident claims life in Lincoln County

ALKOL, W.Va. — A man died in a logging accident in Lincoln County Thursday morning, state police said.

Kennith Vickers, 76, of Alkol, was working in a wooded area on Flat Creek Road near Alkol when he was struck in the head by a tree, investigators said.

The accident happened at around 11 a.m.

State police said no foul play was suspected and there would be no autopsy.
