PINEVILLE, W.Va. — Sentencing will come later this year for the Wyoming County man who was convicted of murder Friday in Wyoming County Circuit Court while already serving a life sentence for a separate murder.
After hearing more than a week of testimony, a jury found Oscar Combs, Sr., 46, guilty of 1st degree murder for the death of Teresa Lynn Ford, 48, of Matoaka.
Her body was found buried near Combs’ Bud home in April 2014.
Ford had last been seen in May 2013 in Mercer County where she had reportedly made arrangements to sell her van to Combs.
Investigators said Combs traded the van at a dealership in July 2013.
State Police located Ford’s remains during a separate investigation.
Combs and his son, Oscar Combs, Jr., were arrested in November 2013 for the 2011 murder of James “Bo” Butler from Summers County.
Combs, Sr. was convicted of Butler’s murder in January 2015 and sentenced to life in prison with no chance of parole. The sentence for Ford’s murder could run consecutively or concurrently.
Court records indicated his son, who is also behind bars, will eventually be eligible for parole.
