CANONSBURG, Pa. — Mylan N.V. announced Thursday it has shipped more than 6 million doses of medicine to areas impacted by hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria.
The pharmaceutical company also said in a press release it chartered last weekend an aircraft to Puerto Rico carrying more than 36,000 pounds of essential items needed in areas affected by the storm.
“Our top priorities remain focused on ensuring the safety of our fellow employees and restoring our operations to meet patient needs,” Mylan N.V. CEO Heather Bresch said in a statement. “We recognize that the rebuilding process will take a long time in all three areas. We continue to evaluate how best to make the greatest positive impact on our Mylan family as well as on the surrounding communities in which we operate.”
The shipped medicine includes anti-infective, cardiovascular and respiratory medications.
Mylan has additionally partnered with SBP in Texas in recovery efforts following Hurricane Harvey, which includes donating more than $80,000 for related activity.
