Milton, Hoops Family to redevelop hospital into hotel

MILTON, W.Va. — The city of Milton will partner with Hoops Family Children’s Hospital to develop a vacant hospital into a 100-room hotel.

The city announced Wednesday its goal of changing the Morris Memorial Hospital — a 88,000 square foot building — into a hotel along with developing other facilities on the 189-acre lot.

The plan also includes indoor and outdoor pool facilities; a grand ballroom; a gym; a 250-seat wedding chapel; activity complex; and par 3 nine-hole golf course.

The hospital has been vacant since 2009.
