Harrison County middle school student flown from football game has feeling back in extremities

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. — A student of Mountaineer Middle School is at Ruby Memorial Hospital for non-life threatening injuries from a Thursday night football game.

Harrison County Superintendent Dr. Mark Manchin said the student was making a tackle during the game between Mountaineer and Lincoln middle schools, when another student rolled over top of him.

Officials are not yet sure if the injury was the result of the initial hit or from the contact from the other player.

Manchin said the student is still in pain but does now have feeling back in his extremities. A spinal specialist will further examine after review of x-Rays.
