MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — The West Virginia men’s basketball team will host a charity exhibition against Albany at the WVU Coliseum on Saturday, Oct. 28 at 7:30 p.m.
All proceeds will be donated to the American Red Cross’ hurricane relief efforts.
The WVU athletics department encourages a minimum donation of $5 per fan. WVU students with a valid student ID can enter with a minimum donation of $1. All seating will be general admission on a first-come basis. Gates will open at 6:30 p.m.
This charity exhibition game will replace the Gold-Blue Debut scrimmage that was previously scheduled for Friday, Oct. 27.
West Virginia and Albany received an NCAA waiver to play the additional exhibition game with all proceeds benefiting the ongoing hurricane relief efforts. The two teams will play a regulation 40-minute game.
“We encourage everyone to come out to the WVU Coliseum to see our guys for the first time before we head to Germany to open the regular season,” Mountaineers coach Bob Huggins said. “But more importantly, we can use the game of basketball to provide relief and to raise as much money as possible in support of the hurricane relief efforts through the American Red Cross.”
