Logan fire claims one life

LOGAN, W.Va. — A Sunday morning fatal fire is under investigation in Logan.

The Logan Fire Department says crews responded to a Godby Street residence at around 1 in the morning Sunday.

A man was found unconscious inside the home. Attempts by emergency crews to revive him were unsuccessful.

A dog inside of the home also reportedly died in the blaze. The fire is still under investigation, but it is believed to have started in the kitchen.

The man’s identity has not been released pending family notification.

The state Fire Marshal’s Office is investigation.

The fire marshal’s office also reports a fatal fire from Sunday in Parkersburg. A woman died in the 18th Street blaze.
