CLARKSBURG, W.Va. — The owner of the former X Hale Hookah Lounge in Morgantown was sentenced to three years in federal court Wednesday.

Stephen Graziano, 25, formerly of Morgantown, was one of several arrested in a bust in April 2014 to break up synthetic marijuana distribution. That bust and the ensuing charges were the product of an 18-month investigation.

Synthetic marijuana or cannabinoids are also known as spice, K2, incense, or fake weed.

Graziano pleaded guilty in March to one count of conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance analogue. In his initial indictment, Graziano also faced one charge of laundering of monetary instruments. He could have faced a maximum of 55 years in prison and $2 million in fines from the combined charges.
