CLARKSBURG, W.Va. — An investigation is underway in Clarksburg into a Wednesday night fire that’s being called suspicious.
The property, located along Lee Avenue, was formerly an apartment building that was scheduled to be demolished, Clarksburg Fire Chief Rick Scott said.
Due to the condemnation order and the home boarded up, firefighters had difficulty reaching where the fire originated, which was in a rear apartment on the lower level of the structure.
Scott said there was no one inside of the structure at the time of the fire, which started just before 11:15 p.m. Wednesday night, and no injuries were incurred.
Clarksburg Police Department and Harrison County EMS also responded.
