SPENCER, W.Va. –A Roane County insulation manufacturer plans to add 20 jobs to its Spencer facility, the state Department of Commerce announced Friday.

Armacell, which makes crosslinked polyethylene block used in the aerospace, food and beverage industries, will move from its current 40,000-square-foot space to a 103,000-square-foot facility. It plans to begin production in the new building by the middle of next year.

Armacell currently has 70 workers. The company plans to complete its latest expansion and investments by 2020.

“Armacell is a world leader in engineered foams,” Gov. Jim Justice said in a news release. “We are honored that this company chose to do business in West Virginia, stay in West Virginia and grow with us in West Virginia. We thank Armacell for the confidence it has shown in our state and our people and look forward to continued success.”

The company said it would continue to reach its east coast customers through its Spencer plant.
