RANDOLPH COUNTY, W.Va. — State Police units from Elkins, Buckhannon, and Philippi are assisting in the search for an escaped inmate, MetroNews has learned.
Sampson O’Dell, an inmate being transported from Preston County to Tygart Valley Regional Jail, escaped near the intersection of Rt. 92 and Rt. 33 in Randolph County, which is close to the Barbour County line.
O’Dell fled the vehicle minutes before noon. At least two K-9 units and eight Sheriff’s deputies are assisting in the manhunt.
O’Dell is 6’3”, 210 pounds. The above picture is from January 2017. He was last seen wearing a red flannel shirt, work boots, and blue jeans.
