Upper Kanawha Valley YMCA accepts grant for Montgomery facility

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The Upper Kanawha Valley YMCA received a $275,000 grant Tuesday to assist in operations at its Montgomery facility.

According to a statement, the ARC grant will help in the hiring of necessary staff as well as make enhancements to the building.

The Upper Kanawha Valley YMCA is using the athletic center at the former WVU Tech in Montgomery, which is now being utilized as by KVC Health Systems as a college for youth transitioning out of foster care.

The athletic center was built 50 years ago, and work will be done to make sure it can used by children among multiple age groups.
