RANSON, W.Va. — ROXUL Inc., a Denmark-based insulation company, revealed plans for a $150 million dollar plant that is expected to open in Ranson in 2020.
Representatives from the company presented information during a Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce meeting Thursday afternoon at the Clarion Inn Harpers Ferry-Charles Town.
The insulation manufacturing company is expected to create 150 new jobs at the plant that will begin construction sometime next spring.
Executive director of the county chamber of commerce, Heather McIntyre, said the county is excited about the employment opportunities that will come with this new plant.
“To have any business coming to Jefferson County is a huge deal,” McIntyre said. “But also one that can provide 150 employees is another huge deal.”
ROXUL presented plans for a plant that would be environmentally friendly, which McIntyre added is “excellent.”
Leslie McLaren, North American Government Affairs & Corporate Communication Manager for ROXUL, tells WEPM News that the location of the plant is ideal for the company.
“Jefferson County is the perfect location for us,” McLaren said. “Our product is big in bulk and ships. So, have raw materials here and we’ll have the workforce here.”
McLaren confirmed that the plant is years away from producing materials. The construction is 2018 will take a18 months, and they are projecting the plant to be ready in the first quarter of 2020.
