Highlights: No. 1 Huntington survives with late stop over Hurricane


HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — Class AAA No. 1 Huntington won a quarterfinal thriller over Hurricane on Saturday night in the playoff quarterfinals, 28-27.

The Highlanders came up with a defensive stop on the potential game winning two-point conversion try from Hurricane with under 40 seconds to go.

Huntington’s Jadon Hayes finished with 285 yards and four touchdowns on 26 carries in the win. The Highlanders (12-0) move on to host No. 4 Spring Valley (10-2) in the semifinals.
