The victim, Rodney Ray Rose, 36, of the Ansted area of Fayette County, identified his shooter as Brian Stephen Willis, 29, of the Victor area.

Willis was charged with malicious wounding. He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Southern Regional Jail, where he is awaiting arraignment.

According to a news release from Fayette County Sheriff Mike Fridley, the Fayette County 911 Center received a call just after 10 p.m. Sunday of a male who had been shot multiple times in the upper torso and facial area in the Ansted area.

Rose was shot on River Road in Ansted, under the overpass of U.S. Route 60. He was able to leave the scene and drive himself to the Shell station in Ansted, where Fayette County 911 Center was notified, Fridley said.

Rose was transported via air ambulance to Charleston Area Medical Center, where he is listed in critical condition.
