HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — Jon Elmore finished with 24 points and nine assists and Marshall ended a two-game skid by beating North Carolina Central 92-84 on Wednesday night at the Cam Henderson Center.
Ajdin Penava added 23 points and and C.J. Burks had 19 for the Herd (3-2), which shot 54.1 percent.
Elmore shot 4-of-7 from 3-point range, while Penava went 9-of-11 inside the paint. Freshman forward Darius George had career highs with five points and eight rebounds.
The Thundering Herd led by 17 points wih 12 minutes left before N.C. Central (2-4) close the gap.
Raasean Davis scored 21 and Raekwon Harney added 19 to lead the Eagles, who shot 53 percent.
