WVU’s Naomi Davenport finished with 16 points and a season-high 15 rebounds in a 75-68 win over Butler.


MELBOURNE, Fla. — Teana Muldrow’s 18 points led five starters in double figures as No. 11 West Virginia women’s basketball team pulled out a 75-68 win over Butler in the opener of the Paradise Jam on Thursday.

For the fourth straight game, Muldrow led the team in scoring, chipping in seven rebounds as well. Naomi Davenport registered her third double-double of the season, scoring 16 points and grabbing a season-high 15 rebounds, while point guard Chania Ray sunk finished with 16 points, eight assists and three steals.

Kristina King went 5-of-7 for 10 points, while Katrina Pardee added 10 points and six rebounds.

The Mountaineers (4-0) shot 50.9 percent from the field and 36.4 percent from 3-point ramge. They came away with a 35-28 rebounding advantage over the Bulldogs (3-2).
