Travelers expected to recover following carbon monoxide scare

BLUEFIELD, W.Va. — A family traveling through Mercer County on Thanksgiving Day is expected to fully recover after a carbon monoxide scare.

A driver along U.S. Route 460 pulled over after a baby in the backseat wasn’t breathing and others in the vehicle reported feeling dizzy, authorities said.

A crew from the Bluefield Fire Department and other first responders arrived on the scene and found an exhaust leak into the vehicle.

All in the vehicle were taken to the hospital and are expected to be okay.
