Central routs Summers County for Class A title game berth

WHEELING, W.Va. — Wheeling Central will play for its first Class A football state title since 2011 after drubbing Summers County 42-14 in Saturday’s semifinal.

Anthony Robbins and Dawson Wear scored defensive touchdowns in the first quarter as the Maroon Knights jumped out to a 21-0 lead.

Wheeling Central outgained Summers County 254-16 in the first half, taking a 42-0 cushion.

The Maroon Knights move on to face defending state champion St. Marys in the title game on Saturday, December 2 at 7 p.m. from Wheeling Island Stadium.
