Free internet marketing help available to West Virginia charitable organization

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — An internet marketing firm based in West Virginia’s Capital City is again offering its services for a year — at no cost — to a charitable organization in the Mountain State.

“There’s definitely a need,” said Jamie Summers-Brown, president of Bricks Without Straw.

The application period opens with the start of December.

This is the 5th year for the company’s sponsorship of the Frank Brown Community Partnership which is open to a charity approved to operate in West Virginia with a headquarters within its borders.

The deadline for applications is Dec. 31.

One organization will be selected as the winner in January.

“There’s really not a lot of money in those budgets for the type of work we do so they can market themselves and make them more attractive to donors and more attractive to people that are going to issue grants in the future,” Summers-Brown said.

Included for the winner will be free digital marketing services in Hamilton like website design, either initially or redevelopment, along with social media marketing.

“When I see the results of the organizations that I’m able to help and how it makes their jobs easier, that’s exactly why I do it,” said Summers-Brown.

“These are groups that are serving people in West Virginia, so it’s my pleasure to be able to serve them.”

Past winners have been the Secret Santa Foundation for 2017 along with the Bob Burdette Center, Children’s Therapy Clinic and Manna Meal.

To date, Summers-Brown estimated his company has donated $250,000 in free services.

Last year, nearly 100 applications were submitted.
