Troopers involved in Logan County chase

CHAPMANVILLE, W.Va. — West Virginia State Police engaged in a chase in Logan County Monday evening, which included shots being fired.

State police said Tony Ritchie fled from authorities after a trooper attempted to make a stop following a report of a someone driving a red Ford Mustang driving recklessly. The driver allegedly hit a cruiser but kept going. Ritchie also allegedly tried to hit a trooper standing outside of his vehicle.

When the chase made its way to the Kitchen area, shots were fired, though no one was struck by gunfire.

The driver went into a ditch and hit a second cruiser. Ritchie was taken to Logan Regional Medical Center with minor injuries.

Two other people were in the vehicle, though they were not hurt.
