Preston County man wanted for kidnapping and attempted murder surrenders to police

KINGWOOD, W.Va. — The Preston County man wanted in connection to an alleged assault and kidnapping that began in Bruceton Mills last month has turned himself in to the Preston County Sheriff’s Department.

Virgil Lee Hall, 44, of Bruceton Mills, is facing charges of attempted second degree murder, malicious wounding, strangulation, and kidnapping. He is also being charged as a fugitive from justice in Pennsylvania.

The charges stem from an incident Nov. 18 where Hall is accused of abducting a Preston County woman, taking her across state lines into Pennsylvania, and assaulting her in a cornfield in Wharton Township in a disabled vehicle before dragging her back into Preston County by her hair.

Hall turned himself in Monday. He’s being held without bond.
