LASHMEET, W.Va. — The Princeton detachment of the West Virginia State Police confirmed Wednesday a domestic dispute led to a shooting and two people injured Tuesday night.
Troopers received a call at around 9:30 for a domestic dispute at a Beeson Road residence. They soon discovered that Scottie Coomes, 60, had allegedly shot his 33 year-old son in the neck and struck a female victim with the gun.
The gunshot victim was transported to Princeton Community Hospital for treatment. State Police Sgt. Christian told MetroNews affiliate WJLS both victims are expected to recover.
“The last we heard, both were stable but still hospitalized.”
Coomes is facing several charges including Malicious Wounding, Attempted Murder, Malicious Assault and Wanton Endangerment among others.
He is being held at the Southern Regional Jail in Raleigh County.
