Weston man arrested after police chase with tractor trailer

MAHAN, W.Va. — A man was arrested Friday after allegedly stealing a tractor trailer and leading police on pursuit on the West Virginia Turnpike.

Jesse Nathan Bell, 24, of Weston, is accused of stealing the vehicle from the parking lot of the Princeton Walmart. According to officials, he was trying to get home after being released from a behavioral center.

Authorities said Bell drove the truck northbound on Interstate 77 before wrecking near exit 66 in Mahan. A West Virginia State Police cruiser was wrecked in the pursuit. No injuries were reported.

The Mercer County Sheriff’s Office is conducting an investigation. Bell is being held in Southern Regional Jail on $100,000 bond.
