CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Ahead of the Gildan New Mexico Bowl on Dec. 16, the secretaries of State for Colorado and West Virginia announced a “friendly wager” Monday over the outcome of the game.
Colorado’s Wayne Williams and West Virginia’s Mac Warner agreed to a bet in which both will donate $50 to a local food bank in their own state. The donations, however, have to be made in the name of the winning football team, either the Colorado State Rams of Marshall Thundering Herd.
The Gildan New Mexico Bowl will take place Saturday. ESPN will air the game starting at 4:30 p.m.
Warner also made a similar wager with Utah Lt. Governor Spencer Cox regarding the outcome of the Zaxby’s Heart of Dallas Bowl on Dec. 26, in which the West Virginia Mountaineers will take on the Utah Utes.
