Huntington police arrest suspect in the second shooting death in as many days

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — Huntington police arrested a man Tuesday afternoon after he allegedly shot another person at a gas station earlier in the day.

Officers said Antwon Starkey, 30, shot 25-year-old Kafrederick Mceachin at the Huntington Mart on Hal Greer Boulevard.

According to witnesses, Starkey shot Mceachin inside the gas station before fleeing on foot.

Police said the suspect called authorities while walking east on 9th Avenue toward Hal Greer Boulevard, and Starkey was arrested without incident on the corner of 9th Avenue and Hal Greer Boulevard.

The shooting remains under investigation.
