Boone County students charged after gun brought to school

MADISON, W.Va. — Two Boone County students were charged Wednesday after one of them brought an unloaded pistol to Scott High School.

According to West Virginia State Police, one boy brought the gun and gave it to another student in exchange for a video game. The second student was expected to bring the video game on Thursday.

Troopers said another student told faculty about the gun. The school was put on lockdown, though no students were in danger.

The students are charged as juveniles for possession of a weapon.
