Separate crashes claim lives in north central counties

FAIRMONT, W.Va. — Two people were killed in separate traffic crashes Tuesday night in north central West Virginia.

According to Marion County authorities, a vehicle heading south on Interstate 79 near the Prickett’s Fort exit crossed the median and slammed into another vehicle heading north. The driver in the southbound vehicle was killed. A person in the northbound vehicle was injured.

The collision occurred at about 8:25 p.m.

A single car crash at about the same time in Doddridge County claimed a life, police said.

The wreck happened along Indian Fork Road at round 8:40 p.m.

The names of the victims haven’t been released.
