Parkersburg murder investigation leads to 2 arrests

PARKERSBURG, W.Va. — Two people wanted in Wood County in connection with the murder of a Parkersburg woman could be back in West Virginia as early as next week.

Kenneth Leroy McCoy, 33, and Jessica Nicole Roberts, 25, were in the custody of Illinois authorities after being arrested Thursday at a Walmart in Flora, Ill.

Parkersburg Police had originally called the two “persons of interest” in the murder of Penni Jo Curtiss, 53, of Parkersburg.

Curtiss’ body was found at her home during a Tuesday welfare check.

Court appearances for McCoy, who was wanted for a parole violation, and Roberts ahead of possible extradition were scheduled for Monday.
