WVU women handle Radford, climb to 10-0

Naomi Davenport’s 20 points fueled unbeaten West Virginia to a 75-55 win over Radford on Saturday.

 

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Naomi Davenport scored 20 points to lead four players in double figures and No. 10 West Virginia remained unbeaten by downing Radford 75-55 on Saturday in women’s basketball action.

The Mountaineers, who started 10-0 for the second consecutive season, also got 13 points and 12 rebounds from Teana Muldrow, her fifth double-double. Kristina King and Katrina Pardee each added 11 points.

Khiana Johnson scored 17 points on 5-of-14 shooting for Radford (4-4), which shot only 32 percent overall.

West Virginia shot 50 percent and dominated the boards 45-25. Point guard Chania Ray finished with eight points, eight assists and seven rebounds.

Transfer junior center Theresa Ekhelar played 10 minutes in her Mountaineers debut, amassing four points, four rebounds, two blocks, three turnovers and four fouls.
