Authorities rule “empty threat” at Taylor County school

GRAFTON, W.Va. — A bomb threat that led to an evacuation of Taylor County Middle School on Monday was ruled as an “empty threat” by West Virginia State Police.

A student discovered the threat in the girls’ bathroom on Monday that said “Bomb set to go off at 1:30.”

Though State Police believed the message was an “empty threat,” the school was evacuated and officers remained on scene on about 2 p.m.

No suspects are named at this time.
