2 arrested on drug charges in Huntington

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — Two people are in custody in Huntington following a drug raid.

Police arrested Melvin Jones, 32, and Molly Hart, 25, both of Huntington, during the execution of two high-risk search warrants Wednesday at a home in the 300 block of Olive Street.

Detectives said they found 65 grams of heroin, about 50 Xanax pills, cocaine, marijuana, cash and four guns.

Jones was charged with felony possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance.

Hart was charged with conspiracy to commit a felony.

The warrants were executed by the Huntington Police Department’s Special Investigations Bureau and SWAT Team.

The HPD’s newly-formed Violent Crime Initiative said the two home located at 35 and 337 Olive Street may have been connected to several overdoses that occurred in recent days.
