Dominion warns Lewis County outage customers of scam

WESTON, W.Va. — Dominion Energy West Virginia has received word that imposters are posing as DEWV employees and asking to enter the homes of customers impacted by the natural gas outages in Lewis County.

Dominion spokeswoman Samantha Norris said the imposters are driving a black, unmarked SUV.

“Please be advised that our teams will ALWAYS be in a marked vehicle that is branded with Dominion Energy, Mountaineer Gas or Peoples Gas logos,” Norris said.

Customers are encouraged to call 911 immediately if they are approached by these scammers and advised not to allow entry to homes unless properly identified with the company logos mentioned above.
